Review of Epox latest motherboard, featuring the new VIA KT333 chipset. Is it an overclockers dream come true? find out in this review.
Introduction
This board just hit the stores, and we were already able to lay our hands on
one, thanks to Debcom!
It's heart is the via KT333 chip, that supports pc2700 DDR ram, something that
"should" give a giant boost.
Although the box
looks beautiful, the inside is what we care about.
Everything is in there, a cd with the latest drivers when the board was shipped,
an ATA133 cable and a floppy drive cable. So this board supports ATA133 hard
disks.
The first thing that I noticed was the lack of a northbridge fan. Only a passive
cooling is used, and that's something some overclockers will consider as a disadvantage,
but more about this later.
